Batavias Suppliers of Indonesian Furniture
Batavia’s Suppliers of Indonesian Furniture
Eko and Linda Sudarso, of River Teak have been supplying Batavia from the very beginning when the first container was ixported from Indonesia in 2002. The husband and wife team operate from their office in Jepara with a manufacturing business about 15 miles out of town. To western standards their set up is fairly primitive but the quality and quantity of their products would amaze the most sceptical. They have recently undergone a major rebuild of their offices, which will also double as their home. Batavia enjoys a very friendly and relaxed business and personal relationship with River Teak. Linda, Eko and Airin (Jan 2006)
Batavia uses other manufacturers to supply specific items of furniture, Pak Handi, manufacturers our tables which are to a very high stndard and made to the same tolerances as you would expext a machine to make although these pieces are still made by hand. Other suppliers include arts and crafts, ornaments, giftware as well as many more.
